Cleaning your dryer vent

A few weeks ago I ran across somebody saying their repairman told them to clean their dryer vent with soap and water to make their dryer last longer. So I put it to the test.

You will need soap, a old toothbrush and of course your lint free dryer vent.
You can see in this picture how the water is pooling up on the screen. This is because the dryer sheets you use leave a wax coating over your screen.
I put soap onto my toothbrush and started scrubbing.
Here is the finished result...no water pooling on the screen!
The repairman said to do this about every six months. I think it is worth it if it helps your dry last a little bit longer.
